Mama! Where have you been?

Okay, admittedly, we have disapeared since Christmas. Things are good now, but we were getting discouraged for awhile. Madeleine has been battling virus after infection after cold since the Holidays. We have seen a doctor 5 times in four weeks. Enough. I purposely decide not to post anything during that time because I did not feel like I could say anything nice. Too much frustration. But we're back!

Madeleine is now pushing the 7 month mark. At her six month appointment, she weighed in at 16 lbs 2 oz and measured 29 inches. Unfortunately, with being sick and all, she lost some weight. She is now 15 lbs 8 oz... but she hasn't shrunk! Over all, she's a pretty happy little girl. Even with an ear infection she smiled most of the time and only really complained at nighttime. Poor little thing.

A few more Qs and As....

How's the rolling over coming along?

Great! Madeleine is a pro and actually uses her rolling over skills to avoid crawling.

Is she crawling at all yet?

It's so funnny. She lays on her tunmmy and wiggles her hips and bum, her little legs go in and out, but no actual travelling occurs. She finds this quite frustrating!

Is she on solids yet?

She's been on solids for awhile. Her Doctor thought that it might help her start sleeping through the night again... alas, no such luck. But she does LOVE her food. Apples, sweet potatoes, prunes, appricots, peas... all the good stuff. She eats like a two year-old. It's hilarious to watch. She takes a bite, then goes Mmmmmmm. Ha! Wait 'til she gets a taste of steak!

So she's not sleeping through the night anymore?

No. She slept really well from 6 weeks to about three or four months. Then she started waking up a lot. I thought that we were turning a corner around Christmas time, and then she got sick. Since she has been coughing a lot and it wakes her up, she has been waking up ALOT through the night. Hopefully that will change now that she is starting to feel better again. Keeping my fingers crossed anyway.

Any favorite things?

Madeleine absolutely loves her Jack Johnson / Curious George CD. We dance to it often and it has helped to dry many tears away.

Are you planning any trips soon?

Funny you should ask.... we are leaving on Friday for a 10 day tour of PEI. Yey!

What's the cake for? (see picture below)

This is the cake I decorated last weekend in my cake decorating class. Not perfect, but not bad either!
